The Christian Science Reading Room in Summit relocated from its longstanding spot in the heart of downtown Summit since 1943! It is now located at 292 Springfield Ave, three blocks east, in the Church edifice, First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Summit, NJ.
After 79 years in the heart of downtown Summit, we are now situated 3 blocks east in the Church building at 292 Springfield Ave. Come in on Sunday or Wednesday to talk with us about all of the items offered by the Christian Science Publishing Society. The research/study area is open downstairs.
Come find a quiet oasis for prayer and study.

About the Christian Science Reading Room (CSRR)
The CSRR continues to serve the Summit area community by making available for study and purchase the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy. These two books form the foundation for all other spiritual literature available to borrow, study, or purchase at the CSRR.
The Reading Room provides current relevant spiritual offerings from the Christian Science Publishing Society in Boston, MA. In our sunny foyer on Sundays and Wednesdays, you may pick up these publications in print for more than 120 years, and now all are digitally available as well. These include Pulitzer Prize-winning The Christian Science Monitor and weekly Bible lessons studied around the world.
On the ground level, we have a valuable resource library. The area was recently renovated, and it’s a peaceful oasis for research, study, and prayer. Here you may pick up historical biographies on Mary Baker Eddy, spoken word and music CDs, children's books, and pamphlets that bring spiritual light to current issues of the day such as addiction, parenting, bullying and contagion.
There is always a librarian available to help you search through hard-copy bound volumes or online to researching literature on specific topics. Most importantly, our Reading Room sells the textbook of Christian Science, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. The CSRR also has as a Lending Library where you may come in and borrow books — just like a public library.
The Christian Science Reading Room is open to all and we look forward to welcoming you there!
